Trinidad

The town , founded in 1514 , is one of the jewels of the colonial architectural of Cuba , the baroque and neoclassical buildings with Valle de Los indígenas earned , in 1988 , the declaration of World Heritage Site by UNESCO . The city center is Identified in the picturesque Plaza Mayor , where there is the Romantic Museum , housed in the Palacio Brunet .
Here are shown furniture and objects That Are Part of the city history . Near to Plaza Mayor is situated the Iglesia de la Santisima Trinidad and Iglesia Parroquial Mayor. Several museums are housed in old restored buiding. The Museo de Arquitectura , the Museo Historico Municipal , Guamuhaya Archaeological Museum , dedicated to the pre- colonial history and the Museo de la lucha contra los bandidos in memory of the fight against the anti - revolutionaries. During the visit to the city center do not miss , in Calle Francisco Gomez Soto , Mercado Artigianal . Many small stalls offering handicrafts including embroidery and wooden objects .

Playa Ancon & los cayos​

Playa Ancon is located 12km south of Trinidad, got its name from the black rock of Punta Maria Aguilar very important for sailors. It is a strip of white sand bathed by the placid blue waters of the Caraibian sea. Over the centuries, ocean currents have created 4km of soft, white beach and a excellent reef for snorkeling and scuba diving.
From 1980 onwards, Playa Ancon has been developed for international tourism and now hosts several hotels. Remember to see the coral islands Cayo macho, Cayo Blanco.

Valle de los Ingenos..... ​

This valley is an open-air museum. Preserves the ruins of 12 sugar mills of the 19th century. A large bell for the control of plantations, mills, huts, tools for the job and the torture of slaves. In the San Luis Valley, there are still traces of the indigenous culture, colonial architecture and the war of independence of the 19th century, which marked the decay of this district sugar. Until the mid-19th century, the city of Trinidad was exporting up to a million arrobas (bundles of about 12 pounds) of cane.
Site declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Where Che Guevara fought bravely from 1958 to 1965. Along 100 km , the massif culminates at 1140 m with the peak San Juan . Even if the height is not very high , the climate is harsh and reliefs are rough and furrowed by torrents . Climb the winding roads in the green till the Gran Parque Natural Topes de Collantes between the coffee trees, eucalyptus trees and tree ferns growing on carpets of lichens .
