What to do

Trinidad .... offers each visitor the chance to spend whole days in the streets of the city, observing the work of the artisans of the wood or the passion of the embroiderers. The more active can attend courses organized by agreeing with the numerous salsa dancers of the city. Artists, musicians, actors and dancers converge in the Cuban city of Trinidad, which in has always dedicated a special space. Most brainy you can test by challenging players who meet Chess at "l'accademia de ajedrez".

Valle de los Ingenos....since 2001 has been restored for tourism a short train composed of a steam-powered cars to heavy oil and two open terraces.

It runs, starting from Trinidad, twenty miles of the line once used for the transport of the sugar cane. The main stop is near a former plantation with house and Iznaga tower that was once used to control the slave labor camps.
The train with some uncertainty puffing through a beautiful landscape, where time seems to have stopped at the end of the nineteenth century and find yourself immersed in an atmosphere almost from Far West.

Trinidad offers wide choice of possibilities of excursions, tours and activities. Optimal starting point for visiting the parks of the Sierra Escambray, the history of the Valle de los Ignenos, the rest of Playa Ancon or, for those who do not want to move too, learning Salsa, challenging players of chess or watching the many artisans in the city.

 

​Sierra Escambray...The sentiero per La Batata, in a large cave where runs an underground river, starts from the parking lot of the Parque La Represa. The trip takes 2 hours, in the pools of the cave you can swim.
To visit the Parque La Represa must request a guide. Inside the park you can stop in the restaurant to eat.
The trail to the
Salto de Vegas Grandes begins in the southern part of Topes de Collantes, is 2 km long and takes 2 hours to return.
Another destination is the
Hacienda Codina with its gardens of orchids and bamboo, the Cueva del Altar, and the wonderful views.
